ABOUT JOHANNA
Johanna Solano is a Costa Rican-born, New York–raised licensed clinical social worker and the founder of LUMERIA Healing Retreats—a sacred sanctuary where women return to their wholeness.
With a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Purchase and a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, Johanna is a seasoned mental health expert, honored with the 2025 Marquee Award for Clinical Excellence. Her approach fuses evidence-based practice with intuitive soul healing, creating a unique and powerful experience of restoration and inner activation.
Johanna’s advanced training spans Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT), Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt, Humanistic Psychology, and Family Systems Theory. Her sessions and workshops are both deeply grounded and spiritually expansive.
As the founder of JS Therapy from the Heart, Johanna has worked with hundreds of women to process trauma, reconnect with their inner voice, and design lives rooted in clarity, purpose, and peace. Her work has extended into advocacy, including her documentary “Women Without a Voice,” which sheds light on the silencing impact of domestic violence.
Johanna is more than a facilitator—she is a bridge between evidence and embodiment, between the modern woman and her ancient power. LUMERIA is her love letter to women everywhere who are ready to return home to themselves.
Through LUMERIA, Johanna brings this healing wisdom to the lush lands of Costa Rica—offering curated retreats where clinical depth meets sacred ceremony. Each retreat is a journey of empowerment, nervous system healing, and soul remembering. Guests are held in luxury, guided with intention, and invited to reconnect with their essence through earth, sisterhood, and spirit.
